I need a Quad!!

Journal Entry: Mon May 26, 2008, 3:36 PM
This is the May/June update rant!!

I NEED A QUAD CORE PROCESSOR!!!!!

Ok. That's all for this month's rant. Now back to the regular schedule.

Seriously, my old P4 (2.66) Windows XP machine has been quite stable so far, but it is over 4 years old, so it doesn't have the power a new Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad would provide!

So, hopefuly this year, I look forward to build or buy a new PC with a Quad processor in order to handle the 3D work I do.

And also to keep running Sims2, the more expansion packs they add (and I buy) the more time it takes to load the lots! And I already put in my calendar the arrival of Sims 3!! Yay!

-----------------------------------------------

In the renders front, I'm doing a couple of renders for my very good friend :icondancore: on his comic project. (Yes, Dan, I am working on them! :D ) And thank you for encouraging me to keep walking even if I don't see the Finish line sometimes. LOL!

Also with Dan's project, I got to do a couple of renders with my good friend :iconniyado: . (Dude, you owe me a crash-course using Blender! LOL! ) Niyado's is one of those multifaceted artists who handle not only drawings and coloring (and he's very good at it) but also does 3d renderings.

In the writing stuff front, started writing Chapter 5 of Feral:Eye of Bast. The good thing is that my other very good friend :iconlance-danger: is giving me a hand on this story project. Lance is a very talented artist and storyteller (he's doing Chapter 9 of his Mighty Warlord series, go and check it out!).

That's all for now, folks. See you around. :)

March/April Update

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 31, 2008, 9:41 AM
Hi everyone!

Just to keep you updated on what's going on at Cadmius' world. :D

Renders:

Haven't done much in the previous weeks as I am more concentrated in writing stories for "Feral: Divided Kingdoms", I might post a couple of new and some older renders never published online. So stay tuned.

Writing:

As I said, it looks like my muse has shifted from rendering to writing. Currently doing a new story for "Feral: Divided Kingdoms". The story is tentatively titled "Eye of Bast". have done 3 chapters so far, mostly dialogue and some descriptions. My dear wife read it and liked it very much, which is a good thing! :)

Comics:

Well, yeah, the comic...... still undecided if going in 3d or letting someone else draw and color it for me (the last one could be cool because it would allow me to concentrate on writing and developing the characters even more!). But I am too demanding in terms of quality, and, obviously no artist is going to do it for free, even if they love the project. So I guess is up to me to do it, which means it will come out..... eventually....hopefully.....

Maybe I could let people read the stories openly and tell me what they think. Mmmmm....

Life:

Well, new year, new start on another church and so far, things are doing well. We just took part in a Good Friday musical our new church held at a local university's theatre. Over 600 people assisted to the musical and was a cool experience. My wife and I were part of the choir and we enjoyed it very much! :D

My daugther participated in her school's Field Day and her team won 2 first prize and 1 second prize! Ha! Why I never took part of a Field Day in my youth? One of those "why I didn't do that before?" questions.

Well, honestly, gas prices are skyrocketing! I joke with some friends telling them that I might buy a horse and let him pull my mini-van instead of using the engine! :lol

Nah! I wouldn't do that, people. ;) Besides, it could be worse! Buying food for the horse plus taking care of his droppings! Forget it!

Take care you all, see you around! :D

Gasp! Air...I need aaiiirrr....

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 2, 2008, 5:13 AM
Hi everyone! :D

I was checking my stats today....

"Cadmius has 2,436 pageviews total and his 28 deviations were viewed 3,329 times. He watches 116 people, while 28 people watch him."

:O

Man! Watching 116 very talented artists is no small feat. I have been thinking of cutting down this number drastically but the truth is that in most pages I visit something get my attention from another artist and then, "click", there goes to my DA Watch List. :)

So I guess I have no hope....I am an art freak! ;)

There was no January Update, in case you were wondering.

Take care you all!

December Update

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 21, 2007, 10:22 AM
(originally posted Dec 21, 2007)

Hi everyone!

Sooo, what's new? You might ask?

Well, in renders there's nothing "new"..yet. I'm doing some renders but decided not to post them as they are more experimental in nature, nothing thematic. So sorry about that.

UPDATE (12/28/2007) - I managed to post a new render, actually! Yay! :D

There's something new though. You already know about Feral: Divided Kingdoms (FDK), but I also wanted to create a second series based on FDK. This second series, tentatively called "Kingdom Chronicles" (FKC) , are short stories (or episodes) of different events in the life of our main characters and other secondary characters. You see, FDK is a saga covering, hopefully, several major stories, while FKC will "fill the holes" that the main stories doesn't cover.

Just to refresh my fans memory, I haven't finished Book 1 of Divided Kingdoms, yet; so far I wrote the script for 8 episodes (or chapters....whatever) and started writing the 9th (of a total of 10) before stopping to review the whole story again and make adjustments.

In the meantime, my writing "muse" returned to do Chronicles! And I have managed to write two short stories already! Still got to add more details but the overall stories are done. And have two more stories in my mind to write down soon!

Guess my "muse" wants to recover step by step for now. :D

In the "what-happened-from-the-previous-journal" category.....

We are doing fine, and thanks to all the people that encouraged us. A big  and thank you all!

My wife and I decided to meet with the people we had issues with and came up OK. Apologies were given among all and accepted, but still we understood (and came our more convinced than before) that our time was up and it is time to move in a new direction, with new opportunities and new challenges.

So, there. End of the issue and time to move on.

I wish everyone of you to celebrate this Holiday season with your loved ones. It is not the gifts, nor the parties...it is time to share with those you care and if there's someone you haven't seen in a while, maybe it's time to give that phone call or send a greeting card! ;)

Take care you all! See you next year.

When life throws you lemons....

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 13, 2007, 9:41 AM
Hi everyone:

Well, there was no October update, nor this is a November update either.

Last September I shared with you about my mother's accident and how that event really shook my ground.

Thank God she is doing well and better every day. A big thank you for all the people that asked about her.

Im out of the woods yet? Well it doesn't look that way.

I won't get into details; it doesn't benefit anyone. But I'm going through a new "crisis" that not only affects me but my wife and daugther as well.

You see, the problem with people's attitudes is that sometimes when you get the wrong 'tude it not only hurts the people next to you but also others.

And we are going through that process right now. People that we have respected and listened to for years make sudden actions or take selfish attitudes, where you don't see any will to change or even feel remorse and recognize they need an attitude change.

Love covers all faults, its true. But there comes a time that you are so fed up watching the same damaging attitute towards people, over and over again.

And that's when you draw the line.

I really wish the people I know with these attitudes could see the hurt they make on others. I pray to God that they can open their eyes and see that there are things that need to change for the good of everyone.

As for me and my family, we are at a crossroads, wondering where to go; either take the road where the sun sets down at the sea, or wait for the stars to come up and light up our path.

One thing we are sure, wherever we go, God is our light and he will guide us in our journey.

There will be no renders for a while, but don't despair, it won't be long before I come up with something!. Take care you all and thanks for watching!
